Article 80
  1. The maximum strength of Rajya Sabha to be 250
  2. Out of 250, 12 members are nominated by the President and 238 are representatives of the States and of the two Union Territories.
  3. The members nominated by the President are persons having special knowledge or practical experience in respect of such matters as literature, science, art and social service.

Empowers the Governor to nominate one member of the Anglo-Indian community to the Legislative Assembly of the State if in his opinion the community is not adequately represented therein.

The distribution of seats of the Rajya Sabha among the States and Union Territories is detailed in the Fourth Schedule to the Constitution of India.

Bhakti Movement - Origin, Saints, Timeline Vaishnava and Shaiva devotionalism were given new emphasis and expression by the Alwars and Nayanars saints of South India in the early medieval period. During the Jurassic Period, rifting caused Pangaea to break apart into two supercontinents namely,  Gondwana (to the south)  and  Laurasia (to the north). The Indian craton remained attached to  Gondwana , until the Supercontinent began to rift apart about in the early  Cretaceous. The Indian Plate then drifted northward towards the Eurasian Plate.
