▪️Brahmaputra River

▪️The Brahmaputra (meaning the son of Brahma).

▪️It is 2,900 km in length.

▪️Source: Chemayungdung glacier (Kailas Range) at an elevation of about 5,150 m. It’s source is very close to the sources of Indus and Satluj.

▪️Mariam La separates the source of the Brahmaputra from the Manasarovar Lake.

▪️ In the vast Ganges Delta, it merges with the Padma, the popular name of the river Ganges in Bangladesh, and finally, after merging with Padma, it becomes the Meghna and from here, it flows as Meghna river before emptying into the Bay of Bengal

▪️ Tributaries :
      Left - Dibang river, Dhansiri river, Lohit river and kolong river
      Right - kameng river, Manas river, Teesta river, Subansiri river.

Central Government Mauryan administration was highly centralized. The Emperor was the supreme power and source of all authority. He was assisted by a Council of Ministers. It was called ‘Mantriparishad’. The ministers were called ‘Mantris.’ The council was headed by ‘mantriparishad-adhyakshya’ akin to the Prime Minister of today.
