▪️Brahmaputra River

▪️The Brahmaputra (meaning the son of Brahma).

▪️It is 2,900 km in length.

▪️Source: Chemayungdung glacier (Kailas Range) at an elevation of about 5,150 m. It’s source is very close to the sources of Indus and Satluj.

▪️Mariam La separates the source of the Brahmaputra from the Manasarovar Lake.

▪️ In the vast Ganges Delta, it merges with the Padma, the popular name of the river Ganges in Bangladesh, and finally, after merging with Padma, it becomes the Meghna and from here, it flows as Meghna river before emptying into the Bay of Bengal

▪️ Tributaries :
      Left - Dibang river, Dhansiri river, Lohit river and kolong river
      Right - kameng river, Manas river, Teesta river, Subansiri river.

How Fake 2,000 Notes Are Smuggled Into India From Bangladesh Border On February 15, 100 notes were seized from the border at Churiyantpur. On 19th, 96 notes were seized again from a courier on the National Highway. In one case the courier was caught and handed over to the police. In the other, the courier escaped leaving the packet along the fence separating India and Bangladesh. With villages in close proximity on the international border, the smugglers use places like Sushani and Churiyantpur to smuggle in fake notes. The BSF says most couriers used on the Indian side reside on the border and sometimes the villagers do it themselves. Even if the courier comes from another place they are in touch with the villagers for cover and coordinating their escape once the consignment is picked up. Elephanta Caves Elephanta anciently known as Gharapuri, the island capital of Konkan Mauryas, is celebrated for its colossal image of Mahesamurti with three heads each representing a different form. The Elephanta Caves serve as a great tourist attraction in the vicinity of the large Mumbai metropolis. The Elephanta island is located 10 km away from the Gateway of India at Mumbai in Maharashtra.
