▪️Brahmaputra River

▪️The Brahmaputra (meaning the son of Brahma).

▪️It is 2,900 km in length.

▪️Source: Chemayungdung glacier (Kailas Range) at an elevation of about 5,150 m. It’s source is very close to the sources of Indus and Satluj.

▪️Mariam La separates the source of the Brahmaputra from the Manasarovar Lake.

▪️ In the vast Ganges Delta, it merges with the Padma, the popular name of the river Ganges in Bangladesh, and finally, after merging with Padma, it becomes the Meghna and from here, it flows as Meghna river before emptying into the Bay of Bengal

▪️ Tributaries :
      Left - Dibang river, Dhansiri river, Lohit river and kolong river
      Right - kameng river, Manas river, Teesta river, Subansiri river.

Birth of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan - [January 5, 1592] This Day in History On 5 January 1592, Shahab-ud-din Muhammad Khurram, later known as Shah Jahan was born to Mughal Emperor Jahangir and his wife Jagat Gosaini. Early Life of Shah Jahan Shah Jahan was born in Lahore, Pakistan to Prince Salim (who later became Emperor Jahangir) and his Rajput wife from Marwar Princess Jagat Gosaini. Her official Mughal name was Bilqis Makani. Shah Jahan’s grandfather was Mughal Emperor Akbar. Although initially named Prince Khurram, he assumed the regnal name Shah Jahan later.
